10 Things Couples Starting their Paleo Journey Should Know!

Mr. and I started our Paleo Journey pretty much together.  I can't say that it was a smooth beginning.  We definitely have learned a lot through the process and continue to do so.  Here's a quick list of 10 things you should know when starting the Paleo Journey as a Couple!   1. Support from your partner! Support from your partner is key to your journey.  It's been one of the best things we've done as far as our relationship is concerned.  We've literally lost a person (130 lbs) in 6 months.  It's not all been pretty but we are a stronger TEAM because we've been on the journey together! 2.  There's No 'I' in Team! Teamwork makes the dream work!  I couldn't have done this without Mr. rolling up his sleeves and pitching in.  We both like to be in the kitchen but neither of us is fond of the clean up afterwards.  We do teamwork with cooking when we are both home.  This way it doesn't fall on one persons sh...

5 Steps to Paleo Meal Planning for Beginners

Before Mr. and I started our Paleo journey, I was already a meal planner type person.  A month into our journey we decided that Emeals ' Paleo meal plan would be the best avenue for us to continue.  During our first month, a coach and friend, at Crossfit Seymour did our meal plan.  We followed it faithfully but when the next month came and we decided to adopt the paleo lifestyle we were at a loss at where to go from there.  Originally I thought I would just follow the same meal plan every month but that seemed just as boring as having a chicken breast and broccoli every night for dinner.  Mr. and I were recently reminiscing if we would have stuck with it after the first month if Coach hadn't programmed his favorite meals.  Thanks Coach for getting us on the right track! I think part of following the paleo journey is expanding and enjoying so many different foods.  My kitchen is small and outdated but when I am cooking paleo meals I often feel like I...

5 Simple Steps to Understanding Paleo for Beginners

Just 6 months ago Mr. and I were beginning our Paleo Journey.  We started at our local Crossfit Gym Crossfit Seymour .  Friends of ours own the gym and they were having a 30 day Paleo/Crossfit Challenge.  Lucky for us Coach Sam had a 30 day meal plan prepared that he shared with us.  We didn't have the stress of deciding what we were having for dinner.  He had recipes that he and his wife had gathered that he shared with us.  We did the bulk of our cooking on Sunday, which he called our Sunday WOD (workout of the day).  It was at the end of our 30 day challenge when Mr. and I decided we wanted to adopt the Paleo Lifestyle that I found myself stressed and anxious about what to do next.   The answer for us was Emeals . I've written a post about emeals you can find here:  Paleo Emeals .  This was a great starting point for us that took a lot of the planning and stress off my shoulders.  It still allowed me to learn more.   ...

Mr. as seen on Fox 59 Indianapolis

Mr. was able to share our Paleo Journey and how we've incorporated Emeals to our success recently via television.  Here is a link to the video. Mr. Paleo Interview I was so proud of him.  I thought he did an amazing job on his first interview about Emeals.  I wanted to share with our readers. Behind the scenes it was a bit hectic at our house Saturday evening (they interviewed him on Sunday morning).  He prepared 3 entire Paleo Emeals for this segment.  He had with him Spicy Turkey Chili with Adobo Zuchini Spears, Chorizo Fritata with Apple/Pear/Walnut Salad, and Steakhouse Meatloaf with Garlic Sweet Potato Fries.  Some was made Saturday evening and the rest Sunday morning (we got up early).  Everyone at the station must have enjoyed it because little came home. We are looking forward to spreading our journey with more people as we go forward!

10 Easy Steps to Paleo Grocery Shopping

1.  Gather you grocery stores sales ads! Since I usually shop Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and our local grocery store ads come out on Thursday, I usually have had a day or two to scan them online.  When I do, I simply make a note on sale items that are staples in our house such as fruits and veggies.  For example, we purchase a lot of avocados when they are on sale.  This week one of our stores had them on sale for .69 each and I know that the other stores usually carries them at .99 each.  I made a note of that when scanning the ads so I knew where I wanted to purchase them.  It was a good note because the other store actually had them for 1.59 each this week.  So that quick note saved me quite a bit of money.  (I purchased 6!) 2.  Meal plan for the week! This weeks menu courtesy of Emeals . This has actually become very simple for me because we use Emeals !  Our weekly menu is sent every Wednesday so I know what we will be ha...
