Happy Anniversary!!!

I wish I knew how to do those fancy give aways that the blogs I read do when they have special milestones!  Oh well!!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!

Mr. made a huge goal today!

He has officially lost 102 lbs!!!  He was so excited and happy to reach this goal by our 1 year Paleo/Crossfit Anniversary!  I am so very proud of him.  He has put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this year.  He's fought very hard to reach this goal and others this year.  Mr. is an excellent dad that our boys adore and it's wonderful to know that his health is going to allow him to stick around for the long haul!

We haven't updated pictures since these!  I plan to take lots of pictures tonight at our Paleo/Crossfit Party!  Our year has been a roller coaster.  We've had lots of stuff happen that should have caused us to stumble on this journey.  With the help of others either encouraging us, lending an ear, or a helping hand we've been able to pick ourselves up, dust off, and carry forward.  This isn't the end of our journey.  It's really only still beginning.  We have learned so much about ourselves and each other along the way.  Our relationship with food has changed drastically but our relationship with each other hasn't waivered.  We are stronger as individuals but also as a family having made this journey together.  We will continue to improve and work towards our goals in the year to come.

I thank each of you that read this blog for your support and encouragement along the way.  Your kind words, interest, and revisiting has allowed me to feel an even wider support system.  Blogging has allowed me to process what is going on inside of me emotionally as my body begins to mold and form into a new creation.  It has also allowed me to share my story as a means to motivate others.  I am so glad that Amy and Sam extended the olive branch when they did. I can't imagine what our life would have been like this year if they hadn't.

Sam says, "Food is a Drug."  Listen to him!

10 Things Couples Starting their Paleo Journey Should Know!

Mr. and I started our Paleo Journey pretty much together.  I can't say that it was a smooth beginning.  We definitely have learned a lot through the process and continue to do so.  Here's a quick list of 10 things you should know when starting the Paleo Journey as a Couple!   1. Support from your partner! Support from your partner is key to your journey.  It's been one of the best things we've done as far as our relationship is concerned.  We've literally lost a person (130 lbs) in 6 months.  It's not all been pretty but we are a stronger TEAM because we've been on the journey together! 2.  There's No 'I' in Team! Teamwork makes the dream work!  I couldn't have done this without Mr. rolling up his sleeves and pitching in.  We both like to be in the kitchen but neither of us is fond of the clean up afterwards.  We do teamwork with cooking when we are both home.  This way it doesn't fall on one persons sh...

Paleo is Simple!

I've been bombarded with friends and strangers asking questions about Paleo.  I am excited that so many people are excited to try the lifestyle and see if it can help them the way it has helped Mr. and I.  I thought a post to answer some of the questions I am getting along with some additional information was in order. Don't over think Paleo! It's really pretty simple.  Fruits and Vegetables(Organic when possible), Grass Fed Beef (if possible), Nuts and Seeds. Paleo Food Pyramid My typical breakfast includes bacon, eggs, and fruit or avocado.  To add variety I cook my eggs a different way every day.  I usually rotate between fried soft, fried hard, and scrambled eggs with red onion, red, pepper, mushrooms, and spinach.  My breakfast usually looks like this: Paleo Breakfast I don't count or measure anything.  We buy our eggs from local farmers.  They are so much better than store bought PERIOD.  I usually gauge how hungry I am ...

I HEART EGGS!

Pre paleo, I was not a breakfast eater.  I would go in spurts but a bowl of cereal or a cup of yogurt were about as much as I ever thought of regarding breakfast.  I am not a morning person either, so many days I would be running too late for breakfast.   Then came Paleo.  As I was learning how to navigate the lifestyle I was already tired of eggs.  I didn't love eggs.  I promise I've been trying to avoid loving them but something happened to me in the last 6 months and it's time that I come clean.  I love eggs!  I look forward to them every morning. Sometimes at night I think about how I will make them the next day! Woo...that feels better. So now that it's out there, let me tell you how I learned to love them.  Every day I try and fix them a different way and I rotate through the week.  Fried hard, Fried Soft, Scrambled, Scrambled with Veggies are on constant rotation at my house.  Then I try to switch up what I have with ...
