Water works

Oh my dear goodness!  Day 2 and I am SOOO tired of visiting the restroom.  I've really focused these last 2 days on making sure I was drinking lots of water.  I feel like my body is rejecting it...but I know it's really using it to flush out all the bad.

Last night finished as good as it started.  My boys are very busy this week as we wind down one sport and pick up another.  Which had them eating a 4th meal after 2 practices.  Someday's it's hard to keep food in our house.  Unfortunately, after our camping weekend we are too well stocked on junk too.  But I'm happy to report that I didn't cave.  I didn't even have a snack after our early dinner.

So this morning I started my day with my 6 a.m. wake up walk, ab work, and stretching.  I really thought about hitting my snooze but decided against it (and so happy I did).

Eggs, bacon and bulletproof coffee for breakfast.

Carrots and celery for a mid morning snack.

Veggie Soup and leftover pork chop and brussel sprouts for lunch.

An apple for a mid afternoon snack.

Dinner tonight will be taco salad.  Of course to make it paleo I hold the chips and cheese.  My taco salad has romain lettuce, grass fed meat, green and red peppers, organic salsa, avocado, red onion, and cilantro.  I'm looking forward to dinner!

Wednesday is my LONG day at work.  So I'll be sleeping an hour later.  My goal for tomorrow is not to forget to take my vitamins!

10 Things Couples Starting their Paleo Journey Should Know!

Mr. and I started our Paleo Journey pretty much together.  I can't say that it was a smooth beginning.  We definitely have learned a lot through the process and continue to do so.  Here's a quick list of 10 things you should know when starting the Paleo Journey as a Couple!   1. Support from your partner! Support from your partner is key to your journey.  It's been one of the best things we've done as far as our relationship is concerned.  We've literally lost a person (130 lbs) in 6 months.  It's not all been pretty but we are a stronger TEAM because we've been on the journey together! 2.  There's No 'I' in Team! Teamwork makes the dream work!  I couldn't have done this without Mr. rolling up his sleeves and pitching in.  We both like to be in the kitchen but neither of us is fond of the clean up afterwards.  We do teamwork with cooking when we are both home.  This way it doesn't fall on one persons sh...

Paleo is Simple!

I've been bombarded with friends and strangers asking questions about Paleo.  I am excited that so many people are excited to try the lifestyle and see if it can help them the way it has helped Mr. and I.  I thought a post to answer some of the questions I am getting along with some additional information was in order. Don't over think Paleo! It's really pretty simple.  Fruits and Vegetables(Organic when possible), Grass Fed Beef (if possible), Nuts and Seeds. Paleo Food Pyramid My typical breakfast includes bacon, eggs, and fruit or avocado.  To add variety I cook my eggs a different way every day.  I usually rotate between fried soft, fried hard, and scrambled eggs with red onion, red, pepper, mushrooms, and spinach.  My breakfast usually looks like this: Paleo Breakfast I don't count or measure anything.  We buy our eggs from local farmers.  They are so much better than store bought PERIOD.  I usually gauge how hungry I am ...

I HEART EGGS!

Pre paleo, I was not a breakfast eater.  I would go in spurts but a bowl of cereal or a cup of yogurt were about as much as I ever thought of regarding breakfast.  I am not a morning person either, so many days I would be running too late for breakfast.   Then came Paleo.  As I was learning how to navigate the lifestyle I was already tired of eggs.  I didn't love eggs.  I promise I've been trying to avoid loving them but something happened to me in the last 6 months and it's time that I come clean.  I love eggs!  I look forward to them every morning. Sometimes at night I think about how I will make them the next day! Woo...that feels better. So now that it's out there, let me tell you how I learned to love them.  Every day I try and fix them a different way and I rotate through the week.  Fried hard, Fried Soft, Scrambled, Scrambled with Veggies are on constant rotation at my house.  Then I try to switch up what I have with ...
