49 Days to go...and I'm exhausted...

Stress causes food triggers for me.  I could have really used food to sooth anxiety for me today...but I didn't.  I almost went to bed without blogging tonight.  It's been an incredibly long day that I'm happy to say that I survived.  Tomorrow will be long as well...until we head out of town....and then I'm hoping I can take a few deep breaths and celebrate the "Fathers" in my life.  Paleo style of course!

I only was able to eat one meal today at home....which got me thinking...next week will be similar.  Since choosing the Paleo lifestyle, we've also chosen to eat almost all our meals at home.  During the work week I pack my home made lunch (usually leftovers).  I know after my experience coming home from our cruise this past winter that water weight gain may be an issue.  I just think that's important to keep in perspective heading into a crazy busy week.  Next week, lunch meals are catered in.  Because I had control of the food ordering I know that the food will be "Paleo safe."  I am going to have to work extra hard to make sure that I keep up my runs.

I hope I can figure out how to blog tomorrow from my phone.  We'll see how that goes!

10 Things Couples Starting their Paleo Journey Should Know!

Mr. and I started our Paleo Journey pretty much together.  I can't say that it was a smooth beginning.  We definitely have learned a lot through the process and continue to do so.  Here's a quick list of 10 things you should know when starting the Paleo Journey as a Couple!   1. Support from your partner! Support from your partner is key to your journey.  It's been one of the best things we've done as far as our relationship is concerned.  We've literally lost a person (130 lbs) in 6 months.  It's not all been pretty but we are a stronger TEAM because we've been on the journey together! 2.  There's No 'I' in Team! Teamwork makes the dream work!  I couldn't have done this without Mr. rolling up his sleeves and pitching in.  We both like to be in the kitchen but neither of us is fond of the clean up afterwards.  We do teamwork with cooking when we are both home.  This way it doesn't fall on one persons sh...

Stepping Out In Support of Paleo

My goal is for this Blog to help someone make the switch to Paleo and ultimately live a happier and healthier life.  I am stepping out in support of the Paleo lifestyle because it has changed my life and my husbands life for the better.   Please know that I am not a writer.  My "style" if you will, of writing is more conversational than gramatical and I am o.k. with that.  I hope you can be too because I think I have a lot of great experience from learning how to actually live the Paleo lifestyle to share! For now, however, I'd like to share with you my dinner from last night.  I've just returned from an extended trip and my Mr. has been taking care of grocery shopping and meal planning and does it much differently than me but I fused our efforts and made Maple Mustard Chicken Thighs with Cabbage Apple, Bacon, and Walnut Side Dish.  This recipe was taken in part from www.emeals.com  and changed to what we had on hand.   EMeals  is my go...

Looking forward to the week ahead...

Often times I am asked how I manage to meal plan and prepare for the week ahead.  I work full time and run kids to after school activities like everyone else.  I've been meal planning before Paleo so I haven't noticed a big change except I am not as familiar with recipes so it does take me a little longer to cook.  We've been using meal plans through  Emeals  since September 2013.  I get the meals sent to my inbox on Wednesday so that gives me a few days to determine how to proceed.  I don't cook every meal that comes from the meal plan.  Typically though I will use 4-6 depending on the week.  Some I know we won't like, some are too time consuming, and others like fish I'd prefer not to cook inside. Emeals isn't perfect.  Last week there was a recipe for "on the grill." Well we don't have a gourmet kitchen and our outside grill has 6 inches of snow on top of it.  Also it isn't strict Paleo.  There are dressings etc that use h...
